When the market becomes saturated with hundreds of players, millions of products and services aiming to satisfy the customer's needs, bring out new experience is such a good idea to stand out the crowd. In the era of digital, nothing will be better than applying digital factors. For that reason, brands are willing to bring something really crazy to their customers. The leader at the moment is L'oreal. Actually, they are applying shopping online experience accepting people can choose the perfect colour with their skin by uploading a selfie photo to the platform. The computer will do the rest and you could see your face in the colour that you want.


According to L’oreal Mediaroom, they will present a new technology called “The new Beauty Experience” at Viva Technology Paris. In brief, users will be experimental the AR makeup, which means it is totally online. It is like a virtual makeup artist. He will go through step by step to guide you to personalize makeup and shopping online. The second one is a magic mirror with the function allowing you to try on the makeup.

These all-new products will promise to bring new experience to the customer, of course. But behind that, it a story about branding. We are sitting in a modern world where 5G connection, robots or the virtual world becomes more and more popular, the cosmetic market is not an exclusion. Besides the traditional strategy to retain customers which are focusing on the products or promotions, nowadays, we take care of the customer’s experience. Young generation spends more time with technology than ever, so bring technology to their life is probably an efficient way to interest them. In the other words, the brand is joining the digital community and this strategy from L’oreal will also differentiate them from the others. Imagine if this becomes a trend, how big the success the brand will gain?
